The proximity of Napa to the Bay Area and San Francisco has made the area spectacularly gay welcoming. There are several gay-specific things to do, including Out in the Vineyard, a gay tour and event company that hosts the annual “Big Gay Train” train ride through the valley, along with numerous gay wine weekends.
The best time to visit Napa Valley is between August and October and March through May. These times of the year also coincide with the harvest season, which makes it an optimal time to visit and partake in the harvest festivities. Of course, the off-season and winter months are also lovely, and you'll find that Napa Valley hotels are less expensive, and there are fewer crowds during that time.
Napa Valley has no shortage of things to do. From sightseeing, wine-tasting, hot-air ballooning, golf, hiking, and more.
Napa Valley is a foodie paradise, but it would be difficult to choose just one dining experience. Though Napa has no official gay bars, it is very welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community. Aside from having multiple gay mixers and events every few weeks or so, a new local bar, pub, or eatery is selected to be the local gay-friendly spot to meet and be fabulous!
