Gay Los Angeles

What’s attractive about Los Angeles for most gay travelers? Boystown, USA, AKA West Hollywood! West Hollywood is such a great gay wonderland unto itself, that it deserves its own city page. However, the entertainment capital of the world has much more to offer to the gay traveler than just WeHo. Los Angeles is known for its diversity and there are a variety of communities that can fit any traveler’s interests.

The place to start out is Olvera St. Going to Olvera St. will take you on a cultural experience back to when California was governed by Mexico. LA is predominantly a Latino city, and to understand LA this would be a great start. It’s great fun walking from store to store seeing all the Mexican knick-knacks, and there is nothing more delicious than fine Mexican dining found here.

Then of course, how could you not stop at Tinsel Town when making a trip to LA? The main attractions in Hollywood are the Kodak Theater, where the Academy Awards are currently held, and Grauman’s Chinese Theater—the famous theater where celebrities imprint their hands in cement. Up and down the streets, you will see the sidewalks lined with famous stars, good eats, and swanky clubs.

Los Angeles Gay Scene

Los Angeles is also home to the world’s largest research library on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender heritage. Affiliated with the University of Southern California, ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives run wholly on community and corporate support.  It is located in close proximity to the USC University Park Campus.

Sun, surf, glitz, and glamour, you’ll find it all in gay Los Angeles. No trip to LA would be complete without checking out The Getty Museum. The museum attracts visitors and artists from around the world. The size and caliber of their collection are truly unmatched in Southern California.

After a day of culture and history, swing by West Hollywood, Silver Lake, or one of LA’s other fabulous gayborhoods for a drink or a bite to eat.

Will Rogers Beach is a “hot” spot that draws many sexy guys. You can play volleyball, tan, mingle, swim, and just plain look pretty. Affectionately known as “Ginger Rogers Beach,” the Summer weekends will not disappoint those of you who are looking for a different kind of scene, outside of the bars and onto the sand. A tip: bring a cooler with food, beverages, and ICE.  It’s gonna be HOT!
