Located in Southern California, Anaheim is a city in Orange County and part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The name of the city comes from the nearby Santa Ana River and “heim” which means “home” in German. It is the most populous city in Orange County, the 10th-most populous city in California, and the 56th-most populous city in the United States.
It is well known for being the home of the Disneyland Resort, a grand complex of family-friendly, Disney-themed rides, shops, restaurants, and hotels. Aside from Disneyland, Anaheim is also the corporate headquarters for several major companies, including Hewlett-Packard, AT&T, and Panasonic. Now, the city has a thriving LGBTQ community too.
