There aren’t any gay bars or clubs in Punta Mita per sé; however, that shouldn’t stop you from being yourself! Since Punta Mita is a resort town, its culture is welcoming and it is very gay-friendly. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, so there is always something to do.
The best time to visit Punta Mita is between August and September, which is Punta Mitas hottest time of year! During these months, you can enjoy the beach and tropical climate. If you are looking for a bit milder weather, anytime after mid-October will be best.
Golf! Punta Mita has world-renowned golfing. In fact, you can get your golfing in as it has six golf courses. Two of the courses were designed by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. So visit a round of golf while you are there, or all 6!
Visit the Marieta Islands - These uninhabited islands are protected by the Mexican Government. In these islands, you'll find quiet beaches, endemic birds, and pristine waters. You can swim, snorkel, or even stroll around the island. Because the islands are protected, only a few places are allowed to take people to and from the island. Make sure to research what tour guides take you there and how long the excursion would take.
Stroll the Marina - While visiting Punta Mita, why not go for a stroll? The marina offers plenty of small boutiques and restaurants to explore. You can also watch people sail to and from the marina while sipping on a coffee or cocktail. The quiet and laid-back atmosphere will definitely resonate as you explore the marina for yourself.
Sea Food - What is a trip to the peninsula without having some fresh seafood? Ceviche is a local delicacy. Or maybe you prefer some grilled fish? Whatever you end up choosing, you are guaranteed to have some of the freshest seafood you can find. The best way to enjoy your seafood is while you are on the beach; it was probably caught fresh that day!
Street Tacos - While visiting, you may find someone on the street selling street tacos. This is a popular street food that can be found all over Mexico. It's a go-to food for when you're on the go, for when you need a snack or need something to munch on after a few drinks!.
Churros - Since we are on the topic of street food, Churros are also a popular street food in Mexico! Churros are long pieces of fried dough that are coated with cinnamon sugar. It's a delicious snack that can be eaten on the go or when you feel like eating something sweet after eating some street tacos.
Though there are no specific gay bars or clubs in Punta Mita, that doesn’t mean you can't go out and have fun! Punta Mita has plenty of bars and restaurants to explore. It's a safe community and you can feel comfortable letting loose and having a great time!
Punta Mita is a very safe place to visit. As a resort town and private community, the slow and relaxed environment offers a safe environment to golf, lounge around the beach, and let loose.
