Gay Singer Island

Singer Island, Florida, with its white sandy beaches on the sparking Atlantic coast and part of the Palm Beaches has LGBTQ+ travelers singing its praises! Its spectacular location is ideal for warm-weather fun including sunning, swimming, snorkeling, stand-up paddling, site-seeing, shopping, and so much more!

Gay Scene on Singer Island

Florida is one of the most inclusive and welcoming destinations of all, and its cities, hotels, and events have deservedly earned the accolades of the Gay Travel Awards® for many years in a row.  You’ll see brilliant rainbows beaming brightly over Singer Island not just in its gorgeous skies but everywhere you look.

When to Visit

Singer Island is spectacular year-round.  When “spring-breakers” are descending on Fort Lauderdale, Singer Island offers a more subdued scene yet boasts an abundance of pursuits to please gay travelers.

Activities and Attractions

Florida is world-renowned for Pride Events and Palm Beach Pride is the second-largest in Southern Florida.  Additionally, there are LGBTQ+ cultural events such as ArtiGras and Festival of the Arts BOCA and musical events such as Brazillian Beat and SunFest.

Worth Avenue world-class shopping is unparalleled and strolling the stunning street lined with lavish boutiques and colorful bougainvillea will make you feel like you have been transported to another country.  Here you will find an outfit “worthy” of the International Gay Polo Tournament (see below).

The International Gay Polo Tournament takes place in April and is the perfect opportunity to sip champagne and watch the clouds float by…and the horses fly by! Who needs an excuse to go barefoot on the grass?  It’s tradition to kick-off your high-heels and stomp the divots!

Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is the Lincoln Center of Southern Florida without the hustle and bustle of New York.  It’s the ideal place to satisfy the soul with music, drama, and the performing arts.

If the lure of sea turtles floats your boat, then we suggest visiting between March 1 and October 31 for the egg-laying season.  The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, a nonprofit cultural center focused on ocean life and sea-turtle conservation is a must!

Need rest?  Lounge by the shore in your cabana and quench your thirst with a lemonade.

Need relaxation?  Soak in the sun.  Let the ocean breeze blow over your body.

Need restoration?  The spa options are incredible!  We even suggest a little zen tour of the Morkami Museum and Japanese Gardens which will enhance your well-being.  There is a century-old connection between Japan and Southern Florida worth exploring!

Gay-Friendly Dining

Overall cuisine is above par with many international influences and an emphasis on fresh seafood, local citrus, and farm-to-table dining. You’ll find everything from casual dining on the beach to five-star restaurants with abundant ambiance that rivals the menu.

Gay-Friendly Bars & Nightlife

Singer Island is in Southern Florida where established gay bars and nightlife abound.  Trendy, hip bars and restaurants are plentiful.

Safety

Singer Island is generally safe with progressive policies and a long tradition of warm hospitality.  Southern Florida has always been inclusive and welcoming.  As always when traveling, stay alert – especially if you head closer to the Riviera Beach area where crime is more prevalent than on Singer Island.
