My girlfriend and I were excited to check out Rosa Bonheur, a bar/restaurant hotspot we couldn’t stop hearing about from Parisian locals. There are actually a total of three locations, but we opted for the one tucked inside the Buttes-Chaumont Park which is known for its legendary Sunday parties. Their Sunday party, also known as “Sunday Bitch” is definitely Rosa Bonheur’s most popular day. When we arrived, there was a bit of a long line to avoid overcrowding inside the venue, but the line is well worth the wait!
Once inside, the open-air tavern was full of Parisian LGBTQ+ hipsters and allies with upbeat, music playing from the DJ. The views from the terrace are also incredible, overlooking the beautiful Buttes-Chaumont Park. We ordered a bottle of rose and kicked back on the outdoor picnic tables enjoying the perfect summer weather. Beyond good music and drinks, Rosa Bonheur also has amazing food. With a wood-fired pizza oven, you can enjoy fresh pizza with local produce. Or maybe homemade spreads are more your thing. Regardless, there are plenty of options to choose from. Named after the famous French lesbian artist who was known for her openness and confidence in expressing herself, the bar upholds that same openness and accepting nature. Rosa Bonheur is the perfect way to spend a Sunday in Paris.
