Founded in 1858, Denver sits just 15 miles east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and offers more than 200 parks, from pocket parks to the 314 acres of City Park. The Queen City of the Plains, so named because of its role in the agricultural industry, also has 29 recreation centers. Gay Denver is a city for the active so don’t be surprised if you are floored by the tanned and toned bodies you see when walking around the city or dancing in a club.
